Uzm. Dr Özgül Balık was born in Bingöl / Karlıova in 1969. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1992. In 1996, she completed her specialisation in Skin and Venereal Diseases at the Ministry of Health Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital. In 2014, he completed his education in Health Management at Anadolu University Open Education Faculty.

He worked at the Ministry of Health Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital between 1992-1996, at Adıyaman State Hospital between 1996-1997, at Gaziantep Attorney Cengiz Gökçek State Hospital between 2004-2008, at a private hospital in Gaziantep between 2008-2009, at Gaziantep Dr Ersin Arslan State Hospital between 2009-2012. Dr Balık served as Chief Physician at Gaziantep Oğuzeli State Hospital in 2012-2013 and as Deputy Director at Gaziantep Provincial Health Directorate in 2014-2015. In 2015, he worked as a Skin and Venereal Diseases Specialist at Gaziantep Dr. Ersin Arslan State Hospital and in private health institutions in Nizip and Gaziantep since 2020.

Uzm. Dr. Balık has seven articles published in international refereed journals, papers presented at international scientific meetings and published in the proceedings book (Proceedings), 11 articles published in national refereed journals, five papers presented at national scientific meetings and published in the proceedings book.
